Job summary

Spotswood College is seeking a passionate Core Classroom Teacher to join our Learning Support Team for 2027. You will provide teaching and pastoral care to Year 9–13 students needing learning support, using flexible, patient and creative approaches.

Learning programmes are personalised and responsive, employing current pedagogy with a UDL focus to neurodiversity. Applicants for primary teaching are also welcome.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with learning needs using inclusive practices.
  • Knowledge of literacy and numeracy development.
  • Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support neurodiversity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective teaching and pastoral care to students requiring learning support.
  • Deliver personalised learning programmes responsive to individual and group needs.
  • Utilise a range of effective teaching techniques aligned with current pedagogy.
  • Support literacy and numeracy development across Year 7–13.
  • Commitment to Manaakitanga, Pono, Whanaungatanga and Whakamana in school culture.

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

Spotswood College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Core Classroom Teacher to join our Learning Support Team in 2027.

The successful candidate would provide effective and relevant teaching and pastoral care, to students requiring learning support:

  • this includes a flexible, patient and creative approach to working with Year 9-13 students
  • learning programmes are personalised and responsive to individual student and group learning needs
  • teaching uses a range of effective techniques, best practice and demonstrates current pedagogy particularly around a UDL approach to neurodiversity
  • literacy and numeracy knowledge, curriculum knowledge eg. phase 1 through to phase 3
  • is committed to the school's values of Manaakitanga, Pono, Whanaungatanga, and Whakamana
