Literacy Aotearoa in Wellington is seeking an engaging Learner Licence Tutor to deliver two-day courses to groups of adult learners. You will facilitate practical sessions, support literacy needs, and help learners prepare for the theory test using both practical and online resources.
Flexibility as an independent contractor is offered, with resources provided and ongoing support. Previous adult education and literacy experience are advantageous; Police Vetting may be required.

We're looking for an engaging, practical tutor to deliver two-day learner licence courses to groups of adult learners across the Wellington region.
You'll support learners who may need extra help with literacy to understand the Road Code and prepare for their learner licence theory test.
There will be several courses throughout the year, providing flexible contract work alongside other commitments.
Literacy Aotearoa provides the programme resources, learner administration and ongoing support, allowing you to focus on the learners.
What you'll do
Facilitate engaging two-day learner licence courses.
Help learners understand the Road Code and licence requirements.
Support learners with literacy or other learning barriers.
Prepare learners for the theory test using practical and online resources.
Build learner confidence and participation.
Complete attendance and brief programme documentation.
About you
The successful candidate will:
Be confident facilitating small groups of adult learners.
Be patient and able to explain things simply and practically.
Build positive relationships with people from different backgrounds.
Be confident using online resources and supporting learners with online testing.
Be organised, reliable and able to work independent.
Be able to pass a Police Vetting check.
Experience in adult education, literacy and numeracy, driver education, coaching or mentoring would be an advantage. A teaching qualification is helpful but not essential.
