Placements24 is seeking a Mobile Catering Unit Manager for operations around Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This hands-on role covers overseeing the full unit from operations and inventory to customer service and team leadership, ensuring health and safety standards are met and service remains top quality.

You will manage daily operations, supervise a small catering team, handle stock, cash, and POS, and develop strategies to maximise sales while maintaining excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in food service management, mobile catering or fast-paced environments.
• Experience with inventory control and cost management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards in mobile settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the mobile catering unit, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
• Supervise food preparation, service and guest interactions.
• Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards in a mobile setting.
• Manage inventory including ordering, stock control and reducing waste.
• Lead, train and schedule a small team of catering staff.
• Ensure unit cleanliness and operability at all times.
• Handle cash management and POS operations.
• Develop strategies to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with central office on logistics and maintenance.
• Respond to customer feedback and operational challenges.
