Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event & Catering Manager to lead our client's banqueting and event facilities in Queenstown. You will oversee planning, menu development, vendor coordination, and on-site execution for a range of events.

The role requires strong hospitality operations knowledge, superb organization, and the ability to manage budgets, staff, and client relationships while delivering memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Event Manager or Catering Manager, preferably within a hotel or venue setting.
• Strong knowledge of event planning, food and beverage, and hospitality operations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute all catered events and banquets to the highest standards.
• Develop innovative and appealing menu options, considering client preferences and dietary requirements.
• Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue setup, staffing, and audiovisual requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
• Source and manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
• Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
• Oversee event staff during functions, providing leadership and direction.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Market and promote event services to attract new business.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
