Job summary

Bell Gully, a premier New Zealand law firm, seeks a Library and Research Supervisor to lead the LRS team across Auckland and Wellington, and to help shape the strategic direction with the Knowledge Manager. This role focuses on delivering high-quality research and information services for partners and staff.

The position involves managing day-to-day operations, budget planning, and supplier contracts, while advancing evidence-based research and staff training for junior members of the team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management studies or equivalent.
• Experience in knowledge management or information services.
• Experience using legal research platforms (LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, CCH).
• Experience using AI-enabled research and information management tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and service orientation.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the LRS team in Auckland and Wellington.
• Support annual LRS budget planning and cost tracking.
• Provide accurate, cost-effective research including complex requests.
• Oversee media and legislative monitoring and user education.
• Curate the firm's LRS collections, catalogue and databases.
• Assist with negotiations of contracts with key suppliers.
