Kristin School in Albany, Auckland, seeks a Head of Library Services to lead library provision across Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. You will shape strategic direction, manage budgets, and oversee physical and digital resources aligned with the NZ curriculum and IB programmes.

The ideal candidate is a qualified school librarian, able to teach information literacy, collaborate with teachers, mentor staff, and design flexible library spaces that support inquiry and reading.

Qualifications

• Qualified librarian with experience in an educational setting.
• Ability to work with students of varying ages across the school.
• Strong knowledge of NZ curriculum and IB programmes.
• Experience with Library Management Systems.
• Proven track record in collection development and budget management.
• Experience in team leadership and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and manage library budgets and systems.
• Lead and mentor junior, middle, and senior school librarians.
• Oversee physical and digital collections across three schools.
• Promote reading engagement through programs and events.
• Collaborate to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
• Design and deliver lessons to support inquiry learning.
• Create flexible library spaces for collaboration and study.
