Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Auckland seeks a Façade Engineer to lead design and delivery of façade and building envelope packages across multiple projects in New Zealand. You will undertake engineering analysis, review drawings, advise on glazing and cladding systems, and support site inspections while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Building Engineering.
• 5–10 years' experience in façade engineering, building envelopes or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with New Zealand standards and Building Code requirements.
• Experience delivering projects in a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using digital engineering tools; BIM and Revit advantageous.
• Commitment to technical excellence, quality and safety.
• Progress toward, or achievement of, Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of façade and building envelope packages across multiple projects.
• Undertake façade engineering analysis, calculations and technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, specifications and contractor submissions.
• Provide technical advice on glazing, curtain walls, cladding systems, roofing and weathertightness.
• Support project delivery, including design reviews, site inspections and construction monitoring.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, structural engineers and other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand Building Code requirements and relevant standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to technical development.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposal and business development activities.
