Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Façade Engineer in Auckland to lead façade and building envelope design across diverse projects, from aviation to education and public infrastructure. You will perform analyses, assess glazing and cladding systems, review technical submissions and mentor junior engineers.

You’ll work with architects, structural engineers and contractors, ensuring compliance with NZ Building Code and project delivery excellence. Flexible, hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Building Engineering.
• 5–10 years' experience in façade engineering, building envelopes or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with NZ Building Code requirements and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of façade and building envelope packages across multiple projects.
• Undertake façade engineering analysis, calculations and technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, specifications and contractor submissions.
• Provide technical advice on glazing, curtain walls, cladding systems, roofing and weathertightness.
• Support project delivery, including design reviews, site inspections and construction monitoring.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and other disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposals.
