Job summary

A Senior Façade Engineer role in Auckland with Mott MacDonald offers the chance to lead design and delivery of façade packages across diverse projects in a collaborative Buildings team. You will conduct façade analysis, review technical submissions, and provide glazing and cladding expertise while coordinating with architects and engineers across disciplines.

We value candidates with a civil/structural/building engineering background, NZ standards familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Building Engineering.
• 5–10 years' experience in façade engineering, building envelopes or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems including curtain walling, glazing, metal cladding, façades, roofing and waterproofing.
• Familiarity with NZ standards and Building Code requirements, particularly structure, durability and external moisture.
• Experience delivering projects in a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using digital engineering tools, with BIM and Revit experience advantageous.
• Progress toward, or achievement of, Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent accreditation.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Façade Engineer to join our Auckland team and help deliver high-quality building envelope solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial, aviation, education, residential and public infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside leading façade specialists while contributing to projects that shape Auckland and communities across New Zealand.

The role

As a Senior Façade Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design and delivery of façade and building envelope packages across multiple projects.

About you

We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

• A degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Building Engineering.
• Approximately 5-10 years' experience in façade engineering, building envelopes or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems including curtain walling, glazing, metal cladding, façades, roofing and waterproofing.
• Familiarity with relevant New Zealand standards and Building Code requirements, particularly structure, durability and external moisture.
• Experience delivering projects within a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using digital engineering tools, with BIM and Revit experience considered advantageous.
• A commitment to technical excellence, quality and safety.
• Progress toward, or achievement of, Chartered Professional Engineer status or an equivalent professional accreditation.
