Job summary

Bupa Parklands Care Home in Christchurch is hiring a Laundry Worker to support our residents. In this casual role you will manage clothing with care, operate laundry equipment, and ensure on-time completion of daily schedules.

You should have previous experience in a commercial laundry if possible, be a proactive team player, and demonstrate empathy and reliability. Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial laundry is preferred, but training may be provided.
• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and support the team.
• Empathetic, enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive difference for residents.
• Reliable transport and travel arrangements required.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all care is taken with residents’ personal clothing and returned to owners.
• Operate all laundry equipment as specified.
• Meet daily schedules to keep laundry up to date and inform Managers of any issues.
• Maintain clean/dirty delineation areas within the laundry.
• Monitor linen supplies and advise line manager of replacement needs.
• Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect.

Bupa Parklands Care Home is located on Papanui Road in Strowan, Christchurch, close to the communities of Papanui, Merivale, and St Albans. The home offers rest home, hospital, and specialist dementia (psychogeriatric) care.

As a Laundry Worker you will:

• Ensure all care is taken with the residents’ personal clothing and is returned to owners
• Operate all laundry equipment as specified
• Meeting of daily schedules to keep laundry up to date and advising Managers of any issues
• Maintaining clean/dirty delineation areas within the laundry
• Monitoring of linen supplies and advising line manager of replacement needs
• Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect
