Job summary

Bupa Willowbank Care Home in Napier is seeking a Wellbeing Support Assistant to provide weekly cleaning, laundry, daily living assistance and support with meals.

Ideal candidates have aged care or community services experience, a First Aid certificate, and live locally in Napier.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community services.
• Ideal 2+ years in a customer service or support role such as hospitality, housekeeping, or home-based care.
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Living locally in Napier.
• Take pride in providing high-quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely.
• Acknowledge and respect each resident as an individual and encourage independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly cleaning of each resident’s apartment to a high standard.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks for community areas as scheduled.
• Provide daily bed making and weekly bed changing services.
• Collect and return residents' laundry promptly and safely.
• Assist with dressing, hygiene, and meal deliveries; monitor medication reminders.
• Report faults or supply needs to the manager and manage supplies to avoid wastage.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and safe chemical use.
• Treat residents with respect and dignity.

Hours & Roster Details:

• Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
• Hours: Average 21hours/week
• Shift Time: Monday to Friday- 9am– 2.30pm & 2pm - 6pm (4 days on and 2 days off on a 6 week rotating roster)

Located in Meeanee, Napier, Bupa Willowbank Care Home is a modern, spacious care home featuring landscaped gardens and includes Rest Home, Hospital, and Dementia Care.

As a Wellbeing Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside a supportive team to:

• Provide effective, efficient, and hygienic weekly cleaning of each resident’s apartment to a high standard
• Complete all daily cleaning tasks for community areas as scheduled
• Provide daily bed making service to residents and weekly bed changing services
• Ensure care is taken with collecting and returning residents' laundry in a timely manner
• Provide reminders and ensure medications are taken, and support with filling prescriptions
• Assist with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene supervision, and meal deliveries
• Provide any other general services our residents subscribe to, such as companion time
• Report to the manager any faults, issues, or when supplies need replacement in residents’ homes and community areas
• Manage supplies economically and avoid wastage
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage
• Treat residents with respect and dignity

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Previous experience in an aged care environment, disability support, or community services (desirable)
• Ideal work experience of 2+ years in a customer service or support role such as hospitality, housekeeping, or home-based care
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Living locally in Napier
• Take pride in providing high-quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely
• Acknowledge and accept each village resident as an individual and actively encourage residents to be independent
• Always respect the confidentiality and privacy of village residents and actively communicate and listen respectfully to residents
• Show an ability to work well individually and with a team
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives
• Reliable transport or travel arrangements
• Hold legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
