Job summary

Bupa Parklands Care Home in Christchurch is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to provide an exceptional housekeeping service, keeping residents' areas spotless and safe. You’ll work within a friendly team on a 6-week roster (4 days on, 2 days off) with shifts 7.30am–1.30pm, averaging 25.7 hours per week.

• Previous cleaning experience in a care environment is preferable.

Hours & Roster Details:

• Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time


• Hours: Average 25.7 hours/week/154 hours/6 weeks roster period


• Shift Time: 7.30am-1.30pm


• Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly rotating roster across Monday - Sunday)

The purpose of this job

Bupa Parklands Care Home is located on Papanui Road in Strowan, Christchurch, close to the communities of Papanui, Merivale, and St Albans. The home offers rest home, hospital, and specialist dementia (psychogeriatric) care.

As a Cleaneryou will be part of the Housekeeping team to:

• Maintain a high standard of cleaning as set out on the cleaning schedule.


• Managing cleaning supplies.


• Meeting of daily schedule to ensure that residents’ rooms and public areas are in perfect order, reporting any faults or issues to the Household supervisor.


• Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.


• Treat residents with respect and dignity.

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Previous cleaning experience in a similar environment is preferable.


• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed


• Empathetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive difference for residents


• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends
