Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward to join our busy Kitchen team on the waterfront in Wellington. This role provides foundational support to our Kitchen and Restaurant operations, helping maintain cleanliness, quality and standards to deliver five-star service and embody the InterContinental brand.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, take direction, and show initiative while staying physically fit to lift objects over 10kg.

Qualifications

• Look smart in uniform.
• Willingness to help and support colleagues.
• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised to complete tasks on time to a high standard.
• To be able to take direction and show initiative.
• Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Be physically fit and able to safety lift and carry objects over 10kg.
• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Foundational support for Kitchen and Restaurant operations to uphold cleanliness, quality and standards.
• Provide cross-departmental support to ensure five-star service and brand integrity.
• Assist in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and general hospitality excellence.
