Job summary

Compass Group New Zealand is hiring a Kitchen Steward for one of Auckland Airport's premium lounges. The role supports the kitchen and service teams, maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operations across food preparation and dining areas.

This is a permanent position with 32 hours guaranteed per week, spread across 7 days, with weekend work required. Responsibilities include cleaning, food prep assistance, dishwashing, stock replenishment, and effective communication with colleagues to

Qualifications

• Flexible with shifts, including weekends.
• Physically fit and reliable.
• Good communication skills in a team environment.
• Experience in a similar kitchen/hospitality role.
• Familiarity with kitchen cleaning and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and tidy dining and kitchen areas (sweeping, mopping, waste handling).
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating following food safety protocols.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment; ensure sanitisation and proper storage.
• Replenish supplies and rotate stock in dining and kitchen areas.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and respond to customer requests professionally.
