Job summary

The Rees Hotel Queenstown contains a Kitchen Porter role within the Kitchen Team at The Rees Hotel Queenstown and True South restaurant. You will help keep our kitchen spotless and support our chefs with basic food preparation to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Emphasis on reliable, punctual team players who can work across various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays, while contributing to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

• Prior relevant kitchen experience.
• Understanding of food safety and impeccable hygiene practices.
• Accuracy and an “eye for detail”.
• Hard working and keen to learn.

• Effective communication skills and a true team player.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning kitchen equipment, benches and food preparation areas to the highest hygiene standards.
• Assisting our chefs with basic food preparation.
• Receiving deliveries, completing stock checks and rotating stock (FIFO).
• Keeping storerooms clean and organised.
• Following all food safety and health and safety procedures.
