Bupa Sunset Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join a busy kitchen team in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland. This casual role involves helping with food preparation, dishwashing, and general kitchen duties to support residents’ meals and well-being.

Experience is welcomed but not required, with training provided. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand and be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.

The purpose of this job

Bupa Sunset Care home is located in the quiet residential suburb of Blockhouse Bay, Auckland. Bupa Sunset Care Home offers rest home, Hospital and Dementia Care.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will:

• Assist with food preparation
• Undertake General kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning)
• Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards
• Maintain confidentiality
• Follow Health and Safety procedures

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Preferably 1 year experience in a similar role, but full training and development will be provided
• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed
• Empathetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive difference for residents
• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends
• Reliable transport and travel arrangements
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
