Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a leader in cloud infrastructure to recruit a Junior Cloud Operations Apprentice. This fully remote, remote-first program is designed to train aspiring IT professionals in system administration, networking, security best practices, and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

You will learn from experienced cloud engineers, participate in monitoring and deploying cloud resources, and gain hands-on experience with modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Foundational IT and networking knowledge (Linux/Windows).
• Interest in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Basic scripting (Bash, Python) a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration.
• Remote work capable with good self-discipline.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and availability.
• Support deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in cloud infrastructure and services, is seeking motivated and technically inclined individuals for their Junior Cloud Operations Apprenticeship program. This is an exceptional opportunity for aspiring IT professionals to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience in managing and maintaining cloud environments. The program is designed to be a fully remote, remote-first role, allowing you to contribute effectively from anywhere within South Africa. You will work alongside experienced cloud engineers, learning about system administration, network management, security best practices, and automation within major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). We are looking for candidates with a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and the drive to excel in a fast-paced, innovative sector. This apprenticeship provides comprehensive training and exposure to critical cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring cloud infrastructure performance and availability.

• A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated passion through certifications or personal projects.
• Residency in **Eastern Cape, ZA** is not required, but reliable internet access and a suitable remote workspace are mandatory.
