Placements24 seeks a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for a fully remote role with a global client base. You will lead cloud strategy, design scalable architectures on AWS/Azure/GCP, and guide migrations while optimizing security and costs.

You will mentor engineers, influence cloud strategy, and implement IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates, in a remote-first setup that connects teams across regions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT infrastructure experience with 4+ years in cloud architecture.
• Proven design/implementation on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong networking, security and identity management knowledge.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Proficient in IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices experience.
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) desirable.

Responsibilities

Our client, a global leader in cloud-native application development, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their fully remote team. While the company operates globally, this role is integral to their South African presence and will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructures for a diverse range of clients. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through their cloud adoption journeys, architecting scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking technologist with a profound understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop cloud migration strategies and roadmaps for enterprise clients.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud best practices, including security, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement and manage cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 4 years focused on cloud architecture.
• Deep expertise in designing and implementing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and identity management in cloud environments.
• Proven experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
