Job summary

The Treasury – Te Tai Ōhanga in Wellington is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join the Enabling Services team. You will lead IT projects that streamline business processes, develop and maintain plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure deliverables meet tolerances.

You will manage risks, engage stakeholders across central agencies, and oversee change control and handover to IT operations, contributing to continuous improvement and learning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing IT projects, including scoping, planning and delivery.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with experience in motivating and managing project teams.
• Ability to meet the criteria to hold a New Zealand Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Scope, manage, and deliver IT projects that streamline and support business processes.
• Work closely with key stakeholders across The Treasury and other central agencies.
• Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules and budgets; manage risks and issues.
• Facilitate change control and handover of deliverables to IT operations; conduct post-implementation reviews.
