Job summary

The Treasury in Wellington is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join the Enabling Services team. You will scope, plan, and deliver IT projects that streamline business processes and manage risks, budgets, and schedules.

You will lead project teams, engage with Ministers, senior officials, and central agencies, and ensure documentation and change control are completed. This is a full‑time fixed-term role based in Wellington through to 25 June 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing IT projects, including scoping, planning, and delivery.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach, with experience in motivating and managing project teams.
• The ability to meet the criteria required to hold a New Zealand Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Scope, manage, and deliver IT projects that streamline and support business processes.
• Work closely with key stakeholders across The Treasury and other central agencies, including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Public Service Commission.
