Job summary

Vulcan in East Tāmaki, Auckland, is seeking an Internal Sales & Estimation professional for a 12-month fixed-term role from November 2026 to November 2027. You will work with customers, the sales team and the production floor to deliver accurate quotes and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience in internal sales, estimating or customer service within steel/metals/manufacturing or a related trade industry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy preparing quotes and processing orders.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple customer requests at once.
• Confident computer skills, comfortable using business or ERP systems.
• Currently residing in NZ or holding a valid work visa.
• Willing to complete a pre-employment medical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations and estimates from customer drawings, specifications and enquiries.
• Process customer orders and manage day-to-day account queries.
• Provide technical advice and product knowledge to customers.
• Follow up on quotes to support sales conversion and build strong customer relationships.
• Liaise with production and operations to confirm lead times and product availability.
