Job summary

Vulcan Steel is seeking an Internal Sales & Estimation professional for the Plate team in East Tāmaki, Auckland. You will quote accurately, manage orders and advise customers while collaborating with sales and production to ensure lead times and availability.

Ideal candidates will have experience in internal sales/estimating, can read technical drawings, and communicate clearly. You will work in NZ with a 12-month fixed term and opportunities for growth within a market-leading metals distributor.

Qualifications

• Experience in internal sales, estimating or customer service within steel, metals, manufacturing or a related trade industry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy preparing quotes and processing orders.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple customer requests at once.
• Confident computer skills, comfortable using business or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations and estimates from customer drawings, specifications and enquiries.
• Process customer orders and manage day-to-day account queries.
• Provide technical advice and product knowledge to customers.
• Follow up on quotes to support sales conversion and build strong customer relationships.
• Liaise with production and operations to confirm lead times and product availability.
