Job summary

Bizworx Consultancy Limited in Raglan seeks an experienced Intermediate/Senior Accountant to join our SME-focused team. You’ll deliver trusted business advice, financial insights, and high-quality compliance work, working closely with clients to drive performance.

You'll manage a portfolio of SMEs, prepare financial statements and tax returns, and lead advisory services. This role offers a supportive culture, ongoing development, and career progression in a beautiful coastal town.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Chartered Accounting practice.
• CA qualified with NZ taxation/compliance knowledge.
• Proficient with Xero and cloud accounting.
• Experience with XPM and CCH work papers is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and MS Office experience.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing a portfolio of SME clients
• Preparing financial statements, tax returns and management reports
• Advising clients on business performance, strategy, and growth
• Delivering management reporting and business advisory services
• Managing GST, PAYE, and FBT compliance obligations
• Peer reviewing the work of team members
• Supporting and training team members
• Leading process improvements and internal initiatives
• Providing Xero advisory, and cloud accounting support

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ experience within a Chartered Accounting practice, ideally CA qualified
• Strong understanding of New Zealand taxation and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with Xero and cloud accounting software
• Experience in XPM and CCH based work papers would be advantageous
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
