Job summary

The Department of Corrections NZ in Wellington is seeking an experienced Intelligence Analyst to deliver nationally consistent intelligence products within the Corrections Intelligence framework. This role reports to the Rimutaka and Arohata Intelligence Supervisor and contributes to safer prisons and communities.

You will use analytical skills to manage priorities, prepare impromptu and planned briefings, and uphold information integrity.

Qualifications

• The credibility, integrity and personality to establish and maintain effective relationships internal and external to Ara Poutama Aotearoa.
• An understanding of the strategic, operational and tactical use of intelligence.
• High level competency in problem solving and the ability to think critically.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• The ability to deliver impromptu and planned briefings to a range of stakeholder groups.
• An ability to evaluate information with a sense of urgency, and to be vigilant in ensuring the integrity of our operations by elevating concerns before issues arise.
• The successful applicant must obtain, and maintain, a Secret clearance - New Zealand Residency or Citizenship is required for this.
• A full driving licence is required as travel will be a requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nationally consistent intelligence products within the Corrections Intelligence framework.
• Be an integral part of the intelligence team based at Rimutaka Prison and report to the Rimutaka and Arohata Intelligence Supervisor.
• Provide quality actionable intelligence to support safe prisons and safe communities.
