Job summary

New Zealand Customs Service is seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst based in Tauranga to lead intelligence analysis that supports operational decisions and risk management. You will transform complex information into actionable intelligence, helping frontline teams identify threats and disrupt criminal activity.

You will mentor analysts, contribute to capability development, and collaborate with government partners.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an intelligence, investigative, risk, compliance or law enforcement environment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience applying intelligence methodologies and risk assessment frameworks.
• Experience producing high-quality intelligence reports, assessments and recommendations.
• The ability to interpret and analyse information from multiple sources to support operational decision-making.
• Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as i2 Analyst's Notebook, Nexus or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of information security requirements, including handling classified and sensitive information.
• Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively across agencies and stakeholder groups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting intelligence findings and briefings.
