Job summary

New Zealand Police Auckland intelligence team seeks an Intelligence Analyst to identify crime trends, apply analytical techniques, and deliver clear written and verbal briefings to varied audiences. You’ll lead projects, manage priorities, and build strong internal/external relationships to support service delivery excellence.

The role requires a tertiary qualification, Auckland residency or willingness to relocate, a full driver license, and occasional shift work.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Residence in Auckland or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify emerging or escalating trends in crime, crashes, and community reassurance.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and apply analytical techniques to interpret information and data.
• Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports/presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings appropriate to a range of audiences.
• Lead and collaborate on projects and group analysis.
• Effectively manage competing priorities and demands to maintain quality of work under strict timeframes.
• Develop and maintain a wide range of positive relationships (internal and external).
• Lead by example with a committed, positive attitude towards teamwork and professional development.
• Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products.
