Job summary

AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited in Auckland is seeking an Underwriting Associate to support the policy lifecycle across commercial lines. You will work with underwriters, coordinate quotations, bind and issuance, and serve as the onshore SME to clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accurate MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint use, proactive client service, and adherence to governance. You will contribute to audits, disaster recovery exercises, and support a culture of inclusion

Qualifications

Experience as an underwriting associate in general insurance.
Exposure to commercial lines products would be a distinct advantage.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Support quotation, bind and issuance processes across the full policy lifecycle.
Serve as the onshore SME to support the policy lifecycle.
Engage with external customers to chase up or query closings.
Collaborate with internal collections teams to follow up on unallocated cash queries.
Ensure adherence to internal governance and compliance procedures and guidelines.
Participate in operational audits, disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
