Job summary

AIG in New Zealand is seeking an Underwriting Associate to join the Operations Underwriting Support Team. The role reports to the New Zealand Operations Lead and aims to unlock potential by empowering colleagues and delivering value to customers.

You will support quotation, bind and issuance across the policy lifecycle, become the onshore SME, interact with customers and internal teams, and help ensure governance and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience as an underwriting associate in general insurance.
• Exposure to commercial lines products is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to handle multiple issues concurrently with strong stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Support quotation, bind, and issuance processes across the full policy lifecycle.
• Serve as SME to support the policy lifecycle.
• Interact with external customers chasing closings and with internal teams on issues.
• Coordinate with collections teams on unallocated cash queries.
• Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and participate in audits and business continuity exercises.
