Job summary

Southern Cross Hospital in Auckland, North Island, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to keep our technology reliable, secure and performing at its best. Join our Infrastructure Services team delivering Level 2/3 support across servers, networking, cloud, and collaboration platforms.

This 12-month contract suits an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and contributing to continuous improvements, with exposure to Windows Server, Hyper-V, Azure, AD

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Engineer role.
• Experience supporting enterprise or large, multi-site environments.
• Strong troubleshooting capability across Microsoft, networking and cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Hyper-V.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and switching.
• Experience supporting Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise wireless, firewalls, network security and telephony environments.
• Experience working within ITIL-aligned environments, using ServiceNow or a similar ITSM platform.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 operational support across a broad enterprise environment spanning servers, networking, cloud, wireless, Microsoft 365, security, telephony and collaboration platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, support infrastructure changes and upgrades, and contribute to improvements that strengthen the technology services used across our hospitals and support functions.
• Work across technologies including Windows Server, Hyper-V, Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, enterprise networking, wireless and firewalls.
