Job summary

Hamilton City Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager within the Infrastructure and Assets Group to lead delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital projects that shape Hamilton's future.

This role focuses on planning through to handover, delivering safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards, while building relationships across technical experts, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or PM certification.
• Experience delivering infrastructure, building, or construction projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused leadership with a structured delivery approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex capital projects across the full lifecycle.
• Manage consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve objectives.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide robust project controls, reporting and governance support.
• Identify and manage commercial, operational, and delivery risks.
• Ensure projects align with Council objectives and community outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence.
