Job summary

Waste Management seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to ensure a reliable, secure and highly available IT backbone across Microsoft, cloud, network and on‑premises platforms, supporting daily operations and key Digital Solutions initiatives.

Your work includes managing Microsoft 365 and Azure, networks, patching, DR testing, and lifecycle activities, while collaborating with vendors to deliver improvements and meet security standards.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of IT project management methodologies and delivery practices.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and experience using ServiceNow or a similar IT Service Management platform.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, business systems, and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud, server, and network environments.
• Provide Level 2 infrastructure support, troubleshooting and escalating priority issues where required.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and respond to alerts, faults, and service disruptions.
• Manage patching, upgrades, maintenance, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Support technology projects and the Digital Solutions roadmap.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Conduct Disaster Recovery testing and support business continuity readiness.
• Work with vendors and technology partners to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
• Ensure infrastructure services align with Waste Management's cyber security standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve resilience, automation, performance, and efficiency.
