Job summary

Urban Fairway Ltd – Newmarket, Auckland's most social indoor golf studio and bar, is seeking a Golf Studio Manager to lead our vibrant venue. You’ll run the studio during shifts, ensure guests have a fantastic experience from arrival, and drive growth through events, promotions and community-building activities.

You’ll be hands-on with customer service, sales, bar operations and social media, creating a welcoming atmosphere for new players and regulars alike.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or venue management is required.
• Proven ability to engage customers and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Comfortable with golf and talking with players of all levels.

Responsibilities

• Run the studio independently during shifts.
• Welcome customers and set them up on simulators.
• Engage in sales, marketing and promotions.
• Manage social media and content creation.
• Run the bar, serving food and drinks.
• Organise golf events and social evenings.
• Open and close the venue and maintain presentation.

Urban Fairway Ltd – Newmarket, North Island

We’re looking for a Golf Studio Manager to help run Urban Fairway, Auckland's most social indoor golf studio and bar, located in Newmarket.

This is a hands‑on, sole‑charge role for someone who loves golf, is great with people and enjoys creating a fun and welcoming environment.

The customer experience is really important to us. We want someone who can make a first‑time golfer feel just as comfortable as a low‑handicap player, and who gets to know our regulars and helps build a genuine community around the studio.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for running the studio during your shifts and making sure our customers have a great experience from the moment they arrive.

The role will include:

• Welcoming customers, setting them up on the golf simulators to help them get the most out of their session
• Running the studio independently during your shifts
• Active engagement in sales, marketing and promotional activity
• Active engagement on our social media and capturing good content from around the studio
• Running the bar, serving food and drinks
• Helping organise and run golf events, competitions and social evenings
• Building relationships with customers and encouraging repeat visits
• Opening and closing the venue
• Keeping the studio, bar and simulator bays well presented

We want someone who will take ownership of the studio to actively grow the business.

About You

Above all, you need to be great with people.

You’ll be friendly, confident and comfortable talking to all sorts of customers. You should enjoy creating a good atmosphere and provide great service to every customer.

You’ll also need to be:

• Reliable and comfortable working sole charge
• Organised and able to manage multiple bookings and customers at once
• Confident selling and upselling
• Comfortable with technology and learning our simulator and booking systems
• Proactive and happy to get involved in promoting and growing the business
• Comfortable using social media as part of the role
• Available to work evenings and weekends

A genuine interest in golf is important. You don’t need to be a golf professional, but you should be comfortable around the game and enjoy talking golf with our customers.

Bonus Points

We’d particularly like to hear from you if you:

• Have experience running a bar or hospitality venue sole charge
• Already hold a bar Manager’s Certificate
• Have experience in golf, hospitality, events or venue management
• Have experience organising social events, work parties, and competitions
• Are comfortable with sales, promotions and social media
• You will need to hold a current Manager’s Certificate or be prepared and eligible to obtain one.
