ABOUT THE TEE BAY
The Tee Bay is a modern indoor golf and entertainment venue located at Botany Town Centre. We combine premium TrackMan golf simulators with a fully licensed bar, food service, memberships, group bookings and events.
We are looking for a reliable, confident and hands‑on Duty Manager to support our Shop Manager and lead allocated shifts.
This is an active, customer‑facing leadership position. You will work across the venue, provide clear direction to staff and ensure that customers receive professional and attentive service.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Duty Manager supports the Shop Manager with the safe, compliant and customer‑focused operation of The Tee Bay.
When leading an allocated shift, you will be responsible for coordinating staff and day‑to‑day venue operations. When specifically rostered or delegated, you will take operational responsibility while the Shop Manager is absent.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading allocated shifts and maintaining an active leadership presence
- Allocating staff tasks and breaks and coordinating the flow of service
- Providing clear instructions, guidance and support to junior staff
- Monitoring staff performance and addressing incomplete work during the shift
- Providing respectful operational coaching and on‑the‑job training
- Welcoming customers and creating a positive experience for golfers of all abilities
- Coordinating bookings, walk‑ins, simulator‑bay allocation and customer flow
- Assisting customers with check‑in and explaining how to use the TrackMan simulators
- Supporting front‑of‑house, bar, food and beverage service
- Completing or checking opening, closing, cleaning and shift checklists
- Ensuring the venue is clean, organised and properly presented
- Making sure simulator bays and customer areas are reset and ready for the next booking
- Using the POS, booking and venue systems accurately
- Processing sales, approved refunds, discounts and complimentary items
- Completing shift cash reconciliations and reporting discrepancies
- Monitoring stock, receiving deliveries and reporting shortages
- Securing the premises, equipment, keys, cash and alarm systems
- Completing accurate shift, incident, cleaning and operational records
- Providing clear handovers and promptly reporting unfinished work or material issues
When rostered as the certified manager, you will be responsible for complying with:
- The Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
- The conditions of The Tee Bay’s alcohol licence
- Host‑responsibility requirements
- Age‑verification and identification procedures
- Intoxication monitoring and refusal‑of‑service requirements
- Incident and refusal‑of‑service reporting procedures
You must be confident refusing alcohol service when required and managing situations calmly, professionally and safely.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A current Manager’s Certificate
- A current Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ)
- At least two years of customer‑facing hospitality experience
- Experience working in a licensed venue
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a shift
- Experience supervising or supporting junior staff
- Confidence using POS and booking systems
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
- Availability to work rostered evenings, weekends and peak periods

Experience in golf, entertainment, sports venues, functions or events would be an advantage but is not essential. Full training on our TrackMan simulator systems and venue procedures will be provided.
