Job summary

Graham Consulting is seeking an experienced Import Operations Specialist to join our logistics team in Christchurch. You will coordinate end-to-end import shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and a high level of customer service.

You will manage multiple shipments, liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines and local transport providers to keep every leg moving smoothly, while maintaining accurate documentation and costing.

Qualifications

• Experience in import operations or freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of shipping processes and documentation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with CargoWise or similar systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end import shipments (sea and/or air freight).
• Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and customs requirements.
• Liaise with international agents, carriers, and local service providers.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays or issues.
• Provide regular updates and support to customers.
• Ensure accurate job costing, invoicing, and system updates.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Import Operations Specialist to join a busy logistics team. This role is focused on coordinating import shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a high level of customer service.
