Job summary

BNZ is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to help BNZ developers build compliant backend Spring Boot services and shared tooling. You will create automation and integration components aligned to target-state patterns.

Role involves CI/CD, Kubernetes, API gateways, event platforms, and GenAI-assisted tooling. Based in Wellington or Auckland, with flexible days and scale across the bank's engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Deep Spring Boot, Java and microservices experience.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and using API gateways.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tooling and Kubernetes in cloud/container environments.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling, automation, and shared components for BNZ backend platforms.
• Embed non-functional requirements: CI/CD, security, scalability and resilience.
• Support BNZ developer community with modern backend services and platforms.
