Job summary

BNZ is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Centre of Excellence in Auckland. This full-time, hybrid role offers three days in the office and two flexible days, focusing on building and scaling data pipelines for Corporate & Risk data.

You will work with stakeholders to solve problems and deliver robust data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Python skills, experience with modern data engineering tooling (DBT, ELT frameworks, CI/CD), and a mindset of mentoring

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL and Python with modern data engineering practices.
• Ability to mentor others and drive compliant-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines for Corporate and Risk data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and translate requirements into data solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and review code to uphold BNZ standards.
