Job summary

Taumata Arowai is seeking a highly organised People and Capability Coordinator to support our people systems, onboarding, payroll liaison, and reporting. You will be the first point of contact for many queries and help maintain accurate HR data across the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager People and Capability, this role offers exposure to the full employee lifecycle in a purpose-driven public sector environment, with a focus on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Maori capability growth, flexibility,

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in a coordinator or administration role, ideally within HR and the public sector.
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
• Experience working with HR systems and maintaining accurate employee data.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the People and Capability inboxes and respond to queries.
• Prepare employment documents, including offer letters and variations.
• Support onboarding, induction and offboarding processes.
• Coordinate recruitment activities from advertising through to onboarding.
• Assist with fortnightly payroll cycle liaising with Datacom and Finance.
• Be the expert user in HR systems—ELMO and Datacom Direct Access.
• Produce people-related data and reports.
• Support HR initiatives and keep records accurate and compliant.
