Job summary

Summerset is seeking a friendly Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant for our Rototuna village. You’ll help keep resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas clean, while handling laundry with care to ensure residents feel at home.

We look for people who are physically fit, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about aged care. Full training is provided, with weekend rate considerations and strong team support in a caring community.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet; aged care interest with full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care
• Labeling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner.

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Rototuna village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual role, working on as and when needed basis.

Qualifications:

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided)
