Job summary

Summerset Richmond village is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and homelike environment for residents and their whānau. You’ll be part of a warm team ensuring high standards across resident rooms, bathrooms, laundry, and communal areas.

This casual role offers as-needed shifts, full training, and a supportive culture focused on care, wellbeing and excellence within a thriving aged care community.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Pride in work and care for small details
• Physically fit and comfortable standing/walking for long periods
• Genuine interest in aged care with full training provided

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry and kitchen facilities
• Launder, fold and return residents' clothing and linens with care
• Label, mend and maintain residents' personal laundry items
• Support infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Build friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understand their needs

Job Description

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Richmond village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary -full training provided)
