Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is hiring a casual Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at their Auckland village. You will help keep resident rooms, bathrooms and shared areas clean, support laundry duties and ensure a homely, safe environment for residents and families.

Training is provided; no prior aged care experience required. This role offers flexible hours on an as‑needed basis at Summerset at Monterey Park, contributing to a caring, supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally healthcare or hospitality.
• Attention to detail and pride in work.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
• Interest in aged care (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Ensure high‑quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry and kitchen facilities.
• Launder, fold and return residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Label, mend and maintain residents' personal laundry items.
• Support infection control measures and health and safety procedures.
• Build friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understand their needs.

A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner. You're a quiet hero behind the scenes — keeping our village fresh, homely, and dignified for the people who live here. We’re looking for a hardworking, caring casual Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Summerset at Monterey Park village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home. As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your Day-to-day Activities Will Include

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual role offering hours on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided)
