Summerset in the Bay is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our village team. This casual role keeps residents' spaces clean, homely, and safe, ensuring they feel comfortable and at home.

You will launder and care for clothing and linens, support infection control, and build friendly relationships with residents and whānau. No experience is necessary as full training provided. A supportive team culture and ongoing development opportunities await.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities.
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Labeling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items.
• Supporting infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and whānau.

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring casualHousekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcomingSummerset in the Bayvillage team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual role offering hours on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided)
