Job summary

Summerset Holdings is seeking a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant for our Rototuna village in Hamilton. The role focuses on keeping residents’ environment clean, safe, and homely, with duties spanning cleaning, laundry, and personal item care.

You’ll work to ensure residents feel comfortable and cared for, with full training provided for aged care. This casual, as-needed position supports a warm, welcoming team dedicated to excellent care.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Pride in your work and care about the small details.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet.
• Genuine interest in aged care; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities.
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labeling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner.

We're looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Rototunavillage team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual role, working on as and when needed basis.

Qualifications:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality

• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary - full training provided)
