Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Heritage Architect to join a Queenstown practice, focusing on the conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse of historic buildings and sites.

You will collaborate with heritage bodies, clients, and craftspeople to deliver sensitive design solutions that respect the past while meeting contemporary needs. This role offers the chance to contribute to significant historic projects and professional growth in heritage conservation.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in the conservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse of historic buildings.
  • In-depth knowledge of heritage conservation principles, practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software and an understanding of traditional building materials and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the condition and significance of historic buildings and sites for conservation and restoration projects.
  • Develop conservation management plans and detailed design proposals for heritage interventions.

About the Role
