Job summary

Centra Forklifts is an established industry leader servicing major Stevedoring and Port Logistics companies in the Port of Auckland. Based at our port-side Tinley Street workshop, you’ll work on Reach Stackers, heavy forklifts, terminal tractors and more, performing diagnostics, servicing and breakdown repairs on site.

You’ll need trade qualifications in Heavy Diesel/Plant/Heavy Automotive, plus a clean Class 1 and forklift licence.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Plant or Heavy Automotive.
• Experience in heavy machinery (earthmoving, mining, port gear).
• Clean Class 1 licence and forklift licence; able to pass police and drug checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics, servicing and scheduled maintenance.
• Troubleshooting diesel engines, heavy hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Breakdown repairs on the wharves and in the port-side workshop.
• Basic paperwork (timesheets & job sheets).

Centra Forklifts is an established industry leader entrusted by major Stevedoring and Port Logistics companies to service, inspect and maintain the heavy material handling equipment operating across the Port of Auckland.

Operating out of our port-side Tinley Street workshop, you will be part of an essential team keeping critical port equipment in peak condition.

The machinery you’ll work on

• Reach Stackers (Hyster, Omega)
• Heavy Forklifts (10T through to 40T+)
• Terminal Tractors
• Front-End Loaders & other Port Equipment

What you’ll be doing

• Diagnostics, servicing and scheduled maintenance
• Troubleshooting diesel engines, heavy hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems
• Breakdown repairs on the wharves and in the dedicated port-side workshop
• Basic paperwork (timesheets & job sheets)

What are we looking for from you?

• Trade Qualified: Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or Heavy Automotive
• Experience: Heavy machinery background (earthmoving, civil/CRL, mining, heavy transport or port gear)
• Hydraulic know-how: Good diagnostic skills on high-pressure hydraulics and electrics
• Fitness: Ready for heavy mechanical work (lifting parts up to 20-25kg) outdoors and in the shop
• Basics: Clean Class 1 licence, current forklift licence, ability to pass a pre-employment police check & drug screen to be eligible for Port security clearance
