Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security experience (healthcare setting preferred).
• Ability to obtain Level 2 and Level 3 National Certificate or appropriate qualifications.
• Ability to operate modern security technology, e.g. cameras, radios, electronic locking apparatus and basic computer systems.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Word).
• Availability to work on call basis, rostered shift Monday to Sunday over 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling hospital sites and ensuring safety across locations.
• Provide customer service to staff, patients and visitors; escorts as needed.
• Attend and manage security-related incidents, with reporting and follow-up.
• Prepare investigation reports and communicate findings to the Security Coordinator.
• Maintain registers and records with clear, concise incident statements.
• Maintain physical fitness required for the role.

About the Role

Our Security Team provides 24/7 protection across the Counties Manukau District, with a focus on Middlemore Hospital, Manukau Health Park, and additional sites as needed.

This involves frequent patrols of the sites, customer service, staff and visitor escorts, attending all security related incidents as and when required, investigation reporting and follow up of various incidents, reporting to the Security Coordinator. We currently have a full-time position, rostered shifts Monday to Sunday, over 24 hours, 7 days a week period.

About You

Due to the nature of the work, you will need to prove that they are a team player and have the ability to combine a security mind set with exceptional customer Service and people skills.

The ideal candidate will need to have;

• Minimum 1 year of security experience (healthcare setting preferred)
• Ability to obtain Level 2 and Level 3 National Certificate or appropriate qualifications
• Ability to operate modern security technology, i.e. cameras, radios pagers, electronic locking apparatus and basic computer systems
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Word)
• Ability to write clear and concise incident reports, make written statements and keep registers and records
• A good degree of physical fitness is required due to the nature of the role
• Must be available to work on call basis, rostered shift Monday to Sunday over 24 hours, 7 days a week.
