Job summary

Whangaparāoa College is implementing a three-school model from 2027. The Head of Learner Experience will lead the learner wellbeing, behaviour and engagement across Middle or Senior School, supported by a pastoral team.

You will drive restorative practices, de-escalation strategies and data-informed decision making to support diverse learners. Applicants must hold current NZ teacher registration and a practising certificate.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pastoral care and wellbeing programmes.
• Ability to analyse learner data and translate into outcomes.
• Proven leadership of a team and collaboration with multiple schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the learner experience across Middle or Senior School within a three-school model.
• Oversee welfare, behaviour, engagement and pastoral systems.
• Coordinate and manage community events and school initiatives.
• Provide strong, data-informed instructional leadership to staff.
