Job summary

Rentokil Initial is seeking a Local Service Team Leader to guide and support a team of Initial Hygiene Technicians across the Hamilton & Bay of Plenty regions. This hands-on leadership role focuses on team execution, quality of service, and people development in a fast-moving service operation.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in a team-leading or supervisory role, with strong communication and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. A full NZ driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in a team leader or supervisor role (service or operations environment preferred).
• Hands-on and close to the team rather than purely strategic.
• Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 15 field technicians, providing day-to-day guidance and support.
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance and confidence.
• Monitor service quality and step in to resolve issues when needed.
• Work closely with customers to ensure consistent, reliable service delivery.
• Support scheduling, resource planning, and operational coordination.
• Ensure health & safety standards are followed across all sites.
• Assist with reporting and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
• Occasional travel to the Bay of Plenty regions may be required (company vehicle provided).
