Victoria Avenue School in Auckland is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of our restaurant. You will help lead the team, maintain high service standards and ensure customers have a positive dining experience.

Key duties include assisting the Restaurant Manager, supervising staff, helping train, welcoming customers, managing bookings, monitoring stock, checking food quality and safety, and handling opening/closing and cash procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience or Level 2 certificate.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Good organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stay calm during busy service.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily operations.
• Supervise and support staff during restaurant service.
• Help train staff and coordinate their duties.
• Welcome customers and respond to questions or complaints.
• Support bookings and ensure tables are ready for service.
• Monitor stock, assist with ordering and reduce food waste.
• Check food quality, presentation and service standards.
• Keep the restaurant clean, organised and ready for service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Assist with opening, closing and cash handling procedures.
