SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Auckland is seeking a Guest Experience & Education Host to deliver engaging talks, tours, and hands-on experiences that bring marine life to life. You will use storytelling to inspire visitors, from children to school groups, while maintaining high standards of safety and animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging animal talks, lessons, tours, and interactive experiences.
• Create welcoming experiences for children, families, schools, groups, and guests of all ages and abilities.
• Use storytelling and hands-on experiences to bring marine life and conservation to life.
• Develop knowledge of animals, habitats, ecology, and conservation initiatives.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues where possible, escalating when required.
• Deliver scheduled programmes reliably and adapt to changing guest needs and priorities.
• Work collaboratively across the attraction while maintaining guest safety and animal welfare.
• Be a positive ambassador for SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s and inspire guests to protect oceans.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Guest Experience & Education Host to join our team at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Auckland!

About the Role

As a Guest Experience & Education Host, you’ll be at the heart of the guest journey—delivering warm, world-class service and inspiring visitors through engaging talks, lessons, tours, birthday parties, sleepovers, and interactive experiences.

You’ll use storytelling and your growing knowledge of marine animals, habitats, and conservation to spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and inspire guests to take positive action for our oceans.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, accurate, and entertaining animal talks, presentations, lessons, tours, and interactive experiences.
• Create welcoming and memorable experiences for children, families, schools, groups, and guests of all ages and abilities.
• Use storytelling, interpretation, and hands‑on experiences—including our Rockpool—to bring marine life and conservation to life.
• Continually develop your knowledge of our animals, habitats, ecology, biology, and conservation initiatives.
• Respond confidently to guest enquiries and concerns, resolving issues where possible and escalating when required.
• Deliver scheduled programmes reliably and adapt to changing guest needs and operational priorities.
• Work collaboratively across the attraction while maintaining high standards of guest safety, animal welfare, and operational readiness.
• Act as a positive ambassador for SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s and inspire guests to help protect oceans and wildlife.

About You

• A natural communicator with strong presentation, storytelling, and guest‑service skills.
• Enthusiastic and confident engaging with children, families, schools, groups, and diverse audiences.
• Curious about marine life and committed to continually building your animal and conservation knowledge.
• Proactive, organised, adaptable, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
• Physically comfortable spending extended periods standing, walking, presenting, and working weekends, public holidays, and occasional evenings.
• Willing to complete a criminal records check and all required child‑safety screening. Experience in education, tourism, hospitality, an aquarium, zoo, museum, or attraction is an advantage.
