Job summary

Powerco is seeking a Generation & Transmission Integration Engineer to support our network development and ensure safe and efficient integration of new generation and DERs. The role blends power systems analysis, generation connections, and transmission planning, with collaboration with Transpower.

You will work on planning, modelling, and coordinating across teams to understand future grid needs and capacity, while staying aligned with industry standards and codes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and at least five years’ experience in the electricity industry, with a strong background in power systems or network planning.
• Experience with power system analysis, steady-state and dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of electricity industry standards and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out power system studies (steady-state, dynamic, transient) for new generation and DERs.
• Use EMT and RMS modelling to assess impact of new generation and DERs.
• Provide technical input into generation connection applications.
